*ORIGINS*: This pendant is made using an antique Wax Seal of a Scottish Thistle that dates back to the late 1700?s. The national flower of Scotland, one thistle is said to have saved an entire Scottish army. A sharp, pointy flower, the meaning behind the thistle is “No One Provokes Me With Impunity”.*MEANING*: During the Viking’s invasion of Scotland over one thousand years ago, an enemy warrior advancing on a Scottish army stepped on a thistle and cried out in pain. His cry inadvertently woke the sleeping Scotsmen, saving them from a surprise attack. Grateful for the help of a single flower, Scottish King Kenneth III adopted the thistle as his nation’s emblem. The thistle now is known as a symbol for strength, unity and friendship.*PENDANT*: This pendant is made out of fine silver (99.9% pure), and hand stamped with an antique wax seal of a Scottish thistle. Each pendant is stamped, sanded, polished and oxidized for an antique look. Because they are hand-stamped individually and made to order, these pendants are truly unique, and no two pendants are the same (unlike silver pendants cast from a mold). The pendant is also available in copper.*DIMENSIONS*: The pendant is slightly larger than 1/2? across.*CHAIN LENGTH*: the chain is sterling silver or pure copper, 16? long.*ADDITIONS*: Choose to add a fuchsia Swarovski accent.
