I came up with the idea for this piece while thinking about floating coasters. I wanted to minimize the base as much as possible so as to give the impression of the pieces floating. This table is made of steel and wood with 18 pieces of 1/8" steel plate welded together and then welded to 1/2" steel tube at the base to make the foundation. The piece is then topped off with solid walnut squares that are glued to the plate and then sealed. The dimensions are 57 1/2" x 21" at its longest points.I make each item when ordered so please allow 1-2 weeks to ship. In some cases I have premade a piece so please inquire. Also, note that the wood will vary from piece to piece, both darker and lighter depending on the selection at the hardwood shop. You can view the process of this piece as well as many other projects on my blog: www.theprojectmodern.com
