“Things Happen Here” is a one-of-a-kind silkcreened painting on dark denim. I am the only artist I know of that does free-hand silkscreen collage to denim.
This painting with over 10 silkscreen layers, in addition to substantial hand-painted detailing, is a contemplative piece that will speak to anyone following American politics or the political discourse igniting urban art in America. It is also one of the last paintings in a series of 12 that I did back in July ’08 (i.e. pre-election), thus, may one day be more collectible.
A winged Obama glances contemplatively towards an explosion of color with “things happen here” etched into the chaos.
