For years I have had a tiny stash of vintage buttons lying around waiting to become part of a design. I would seek out buttons with a fun design or bright color, buy them and just leave then on my drawing desk. Over the past week I got to making some fun earrings with them. I cut the back off of these shank buttons with my jewelers saw, sanded the back of the button smooth, made my own post “findings” out of sterling silver and set them on with epoxy. I love the result. Since they are over-sized for posts it seemed suitable to call them “not your grandma’s clip-ons.” But they were almost called “buttons from your grandma’s cardigan.” Can you see why? I am sure they will spark some memories of your childhood. I love the look and hope you do too.
The Details:
This lime green button is 15.5mm round and 3mm thick
The post back is sterling silver and handmade
It comes with stainless steel ear nuts
Limited series, only three of it’s kind
All of my jewelry is sent in a kraft colored jewelry box made of recycled materials and tied with a bow. The jewelry will be in either a tarnish resistant bag or paper for your storing convenience.
