Gold and silver 2 tone wood grain ring.
A new take on woodgrain, the sterling silver ring has been gold plated with 14 kt yellow gold, and then finished to bring the silver out on the high spots, leaving the gold in the textured areas.
- For gold plated items, do not use a polishing cloth or any other abrasive cleaners. Just soap and water. You may want to take this ring off if you are gardening or otherwise doing activities that would be abrasive.
This unique ring is a collaboration between my husband & I. He is also an artist, a painter & printmaker, so he has applied his engraving techniques the the wax ring band I gave him.
The ring was carved into wax, engraved with hand drawn faux bois texture, and then cast directly into sterling silver using the lost wax process.
I have oxidized this ring to give the engraved lines a dark finish, and then the surface was wire brushed to highlight the wood grain texture. ridges will shine slightly with wear. Interior is a satin finish.
