With her BFA in studio art, designer Christine Fail’s background is firmly rooted in art and design. After 5 years working for two internationally renowned jewelry designers, selling to the country’s top retailers, and working directly with customers Christine decided to realize all of her experience and expertise in her own vision. Schatzelein, her retail endeavor, is the fist half of that vision and fail, her line of handmade jewelry, is the second.
Each piece is delicately handcrafted in sterling silver and 14K gold-fill in Christine’s Austin Texas studio. Christine employs classic metalsmithing technique such as hand forging to form and shape delicate wire. Forging gives wire strength, resiliency, and a soft organic texture that allows the hand of the artist to be present in each piece. Fail jewelry is intentionally lightweight, fluid, and wearable.
Christine focuses on designing pieces that are understated, elegant, and easy. Modern yet classic, fail embodies the spirit of Austin with pieces that transition effortlessly from a t-shirt and jeans to the little black dress.
