The Davisionary Project is what happens when three brothers in three cities with three artistic talents and perspectives join their art together in one place. Davisionary is a place for them to offer their art, distinct yet unified by a fraternal bond.
Davisionary was created by Christopher Robert Davis, the youngest of the three, in 2010. Originally intended to be his personal portfolio website for his fine arts/film and new media senior project, Chris found that sharing his art with the world, whoever that be, was worth continuing. And so he invited his brothers, Matthew Scott and Graig Michael, to contribute.
Davisionary is as much for the Davis three as it is for you. Because finding full-time creative work that lets their creative souls exist unbound remains elusive, each brother has pursued his own artistic passions and freelance career after the 5pm whistle of his 9-5 job. Trading briefcase for paint brush, camera, sketchbook, each goes to work unleashing the amorphous inspiration within them on whatever canvas they can find in order to stay sane.
Each brother works independently—Chris on his film, new media, and graphics in Chicago; Matt on his digital art, drawing, and printing in Washington, DC; and Graig on his professional and fine art photography in Akron. But they think you’ll see a common thread of what they have experienced growing up together—family, hilarity, oddity, silliness, pain, loss, success, God, love.
So Davisionary is a chance for each of the Brothers Davis to push his art even further, using this space as their collective digital art gallery. With no presuppositions about what it should be or will become, the brothers pursue their passion with patience knowing that the future of Davisionary is as amorphous as is first the inception of an idea—all they have to do is keep putting the brush to the canvas.
