we are so taken by ms. spalding and how lovely her energy and voice and grace and performance and appearance was at the oscars, and just is in general. the beauty of the song and the delivery and and and. it’s too much. what an honor to see our work don her hand in such a tremendous forum.

Behind Esperanza Spalding’s Oscar Ring

Esperanza Spalding has played the White House, the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony and last night she stole the show at the Oscars while wearing the massive and fabulous agate heart knuckle ring by Loving Anvil.

We began our conversations with Esperanza’s stylist leading into the Grammys. Honored she would think of NewYorkDesigner.com, it was a big decision selecting which piece from which designer, as we have so much talent on the site. After more details came through, Loving Anvil was a sure fit and the Massive Agate Heart Knuckle Ring was the ring for such a beautiful, talented woman with such style of her own. Now, playing bass while donning a double-knuckled ring is no easy feat we were just as skeptical as we were excited this ring would be worn. THEN…could it really be that she selected it for the the Oscars instead? What? No way. Yup.

There was no need for the garish for this voice to attract attention. A simple, bold double knuckled ring it was – with a white, flowing gown. Millions saw and heard that for themselves when she took the stage with Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World for the traditional Academy Award’s In Memoriam segment.
