Independent app developer Raw Toast Design has recently released Art of RTD, their first art gallery book app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch platforms. Get Jesse Kuhn of Raw Toast Design’s art on your iPhone and put some illustration inspiration in your pocket with this art gallery app.
This handpicked selection showcases 36 illustrations of Raw Toast Design’s most popular artwork. Every illustration includes the artist’s description and commentary about each one giving the viewer even more insight about the origin of the images. Each illustration can easily be saved as a wallpaper for your screen as well.
Raw Toast Design is a multi-disciplinary picture making studio, a creative venture by Jesse Kuhn. Established in 2004, Raw Toast Design provides a wide range of visual matter solutions for clients including McDonalds, Pepcid, Bayer, Bonnaroo Music Festival, Wall Street Journal, American Way, Time Out New York, Time Out Chicago, Utne Reader, Tennis Magazine, and Johns Hopkins Magazine to name a few.
The work has been recognized and given honors through some appearances in fancy magazines and hardbound stacks of paper including Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, 3×3, Creative Quarterly, Applied Arts, and CMYK Magazine.
Jesse is constantly studying visual culture, and draws inspiration from books, magazines, galleries, films, humans, and travel. He is also fascinated by all things odd, strange and peculiar. He tries to dream on a regular basis and hopes that his work provokes a thought and perhaps a smile from it’s viewer.
HOLIDAY SHIPPING - important dates!
RAWTOASTDESIGN prints make great gifts for the holidays (esp. this years holiday greeting card – http://bit.ly/hPYwth ). Need to have everything by the 25th? All orders received by Thursday, the 16th, are guaranteed to be on your doorstep in time for the gift giving ceremonies. Anything after that I’ll do my best with and will depend on inventory levels. If you are ordering a larger 16"x20" print after Thursday I recommend emailing for availability first – info {at} rawtoastdesign {dot} com. Thanks and Happy Holidays!
Giving Away My Artwork For Free
I’m trying to help out a high school in my neighborhood here in the East Village of NYC. They are trying to win money through a voting process to really ramp up their arts programs. I’m giving away a free signed print of my work to everyone who helps them. All the details can be seen through the link below. If you can help with spreading this in anyway online I would greatly appreciate it. It’s time sensitive too. Voting ends on Friday.

American Illustration 29

RTD’s infamous Greetings From Mr. Bird illustration that was done with Stephanie Glaros at Utne Reader will be appearing in this years American Illustration 29 web gallery and joining RTD’s past winners at ai-ap.com. It was one of only 280 images from over 8,000 submitted to receive enough votes to appear permanently on the website.
Here’s a bit more from Mark Heflin, the Director American Illustration & American Photography:
_On behalf of the entire jury, I thank you for your submission and support of American Illustration. This year’s distinguished panel included: Rodrigo Corral, Rodrigo Corral Design; Irene Gallo, Tor, Forge, & Starscape Books; Rob Hewitt, Curious Outsider Design Studio; Kory Kennedy, Runners World; Gail Marowitz, Roadrunner Records; Siung Tjia, ESPN The Magazine; Jason Treat, The Atlantic.
Your chosen image, along with your contact and credit information and link to your website, will accompany the collection of all winning illustrations representing the best images from 2009.
A slide presentation announcing the winning images will be sent to all entrants and to our member list of over 30,000 creative professionals in May._
