About Annie A.

I grew up in Arlington, Virginia, and have been an artist and maker-of-things my whole life--my mom tells me that I was gluing bits and pieces together by the time I was 18 months old. This love of craft is part of why I found myself working at a local Mom and Pop hardware store after a foundation year at Maine College of Art. While there, I was able to experiment with a wide array of new tools and materials, particularly metals, fasteners, and coatings. After about ten years of that the artist inside me couldn’t be held back and I decided to attend an eight-week intensive jewelry course at Penland School of Crafts in rural North Carolina. For the past five years I’ve been working full time on metal designs that draw from inspirations from the industrial as well as the elegant. I enjoy combining the two.I usually do silver jewelry as AKAannie, but opened Gypsy Couture, The Junk Show to explore other interests and mediums. Thanks for looking!See my work at SPACE Montrose in Houston, Texas and OODLES in White River Junction, Vermont. Also see my silver shop for jewelry. Prime quality, deviant design...
