About Fontface

We're a husband+wife duo based out of Raleigh, NC. We focus on making whimsical, eco-friendly products. We love sketching and collaging, the feel of paper, carving linoleum blocks, ridiculous puns, clean typography, infographics, and tooling around Photoshop. After years of working independently on artistic projects, we decided to courageously try our hand at collaborating. Fontface is the end result of ideas we've collected while sipping freshly roasted coffee, driving cross country, and listening to records of Billie Holiday.

As husband+wife team, we work together to design whimsical and eco-friendly products* and invest in the next generation of artists.** Thanks for checking us out!{Our process}Typically our process goes something like this - We dream up an idea together, Shannon starts sketching and working with various papers and mixed media, then we both decide on a final design. Erik scans the design and makes some modifications, including the addition of text and minor color adjustments in Photoshop. When a design is print-ready, we send it to local businesses for printing. We carefully inspect the final results to make sure it’s a product we're excited to stand behind.{Shipping}We will make every effort to fill and ship the order within 24 hours of payment.{Refunds and Exchanges}Trust us when we say that we’re perfectionists and we pride ourselves in excellent quality and craftsmanship. That said, if you are unsatisfied with your order for any reason, contact us with a photo of the received item and a description of any damage or complaint you have with the product(s). We will be happy to work with you to make it right. Please note that in some cases, shipping costs to and from the recipient may not be reimbursed. Please also bear in mind that there will be minor differences in color due to photography, computer monitors, etc. Because we print on 100% post consumer recycled heavy weight paper, some very small flecks may also be present.{Custom orders}If you see something in our shop that you like, but prefer a different quantity, want to mix and match, prefer a different color scheme, etc don’t hesitate to contact us. Have a pun or design in mind you’d like to see? We’d love to hear it! We promise we’re nice people, so drop us a line and we’ll work with you to design a custom project! {Wholesale and Consignment}If you are interested in bulk orders for consignment or wholesale, please contact us. * {Eco-friendly}We believe that as artists, we carry the responsibility to use sustainable, recycled materials when possible. This not only minimizes our ecological footprint, but bears in mind that we share a limited space with millions of others around the globe, past, present and future. To that end, we take great care in choosing our materials and the local businesses we partner with. +For our stationary and paper productsWe work with Grass Roots Press, the oldest print shop in Raleigh, NC. GRP is committed to using recycled and post-consumer papers to save trees, energy and landfill space. They print on 80 lb white acid free / archival Mohawk paper made of 100% post consumer recycled content (exceeding EPA standards). They also use vegetable and soy-based inks and give annual donations to environmental organizations such as Trees for the Future. Read more about GRP at www.grassrootspress.net. +For our packagingWe use biodegradable plastic sleeves that are made from plants so you can toss them into your recycle or compost bin! For notecard / gift sets, we use cute little cotton bags. They look darling and perfect for reusing. To mail our products to you, we re-use envelopes and boxes (when applicable) or recycled Kraft Mailer Envelopes. ** {Patron of the Arts}We love art and supporting the people who make it. We believe that the arts enrich and widen the human experience so we're putting 10% of this shop's proceeds towards other creative initiatives that support artists in their work. We like to think of it as a way of giving back and investing in the next generation of art makers and appreciators. We currently patron Twin Kittens Gallery (www.twinkittens.com), an Atlanta-based nonprofit that seeks to embolden and empower contemporary artists by giving them opportunities to display and sell their work in a professional setting (with 0% commission!). TK also provides opportunities for artists to connect to a wider community through creative programming.
